Youths rob woman of jewellery in Pontins assault

Detectives are looking for a gang of teenagers who robbed a woman of her jewellery at Pontins in Prestatyn.

The 60 year-old was heading towards the chalets at the holiday camp at around 11.15pm on Thursday night (7th August). She was approached by a group of five youths – three girls and two boys – who pushed her off her mobility scooter and stole her late husband’s wedding ring, her engagement ring from her left finger and a gold necklace with a white jade dragon. Cash and cigarettes were also taken.

DC Andy Pendleton of St Asaph CID said the woman had been walking on a path near the car park with bushes on either side when the teenagers approached – they were said to be aged between 15 and 17 years old.

Anyone who saw the assault or has any information about the youths should contact St Asaph CID on 101 (ref no. RC14123036) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
