Welsh Government funding delivering housing boost in Wrexham

Investment in housing schemes in Wrexham is underlining the Welsh Government’s commitment to regeneration, tackling poverty and providing affordable homes, Finance and Government Business Minister Jane Hutt has said.
The Minister visited the town to see how two projects, one completed and another in construction phase, which have received Welsh Government funding.
First was a visit to the site of the new Extra Care Scheme on Grosvenor Road in the town. The £9 million development has received £4.9 million capital funding through the Welsh Government’s Vibrant and Viable Places Regeneration Programme.
The Minister then took a tour of the £2 million Llys Santes Ann complex which has previously benefitted from £693,573 Welsh Government Social Housing Grant investment and has provided 23 new affordable homes in Glan Gors, Caia Park.
Following her visits, the Finance and Government Business Minister Jane Hutt said: “I have been delighted to see how Welsh Government funding is making a real difference here in Wrexham.
“Llys Santes Ann has provided much needed affordable homes and I was pleased to meet Mrs Jones to hear the positive impact moving into the complex has had on her.
“Extra Care facilities provide an important opportunity for older people to live independently in their own home safe in the knowledge support is on hand when required and the scheme on Grosvenor Road will offer exactly that.”
