Vehicle thefts prompt police warning

Police have warned residents in Conwy and Denbighshire to secure their property after a spate of vehicle thefts from homes.

Keys and other items have been stolen from houses in St Asaph, Betws-y-Coed, Dolwyd and Rhos on Sea over the past fortnight. It’s not known whether the burglaries are linked.

DC Dewi Laidlaw-Wilson at St Asaph police station said: ”If you are planning on going on holiday please arrange for a neighbour or friend to carry out regular checks of your home and leave some lights on. Please avoid advertising the fact you are not at home for several days on social media. By just taking these steps you could save a lot of hardship, inconvenience and distress at a later time.”

Anyone with information about the the vehicle thefts should contact DC Laidlaw-Wilson at St Asaph CID on 101, quoting reference no. RC17074550, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
