Two men bailed after Llandudno assaults

Two men have been released on bail after a jogger and a dog walker were attacked on Llandudno promenade.

Police say the female runner was assaulted by two men at around 7am on Saturday morning and a 52 year-old man was attacked shortly afterwards. It’s believed the man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with a severely cut ear and a woman suffered minor injuries.

The two men arrested were from Flintshire and Cheshire and were staying at a local hotel – they have been bailed to return to Llandudno police station next month.

Inspector Gareth Cust said on Sunday: ”The motive for the assault is not believed to be robbery-related and thankfully the injuries were minor in nature…we are content that this was an isolated incident in which a swift and effective response was made.”
