Two food retailers have become the latest brands to join Rhyl’s Marina Quay project as construction work resumes.

Burger King and Greggs will form part of the £23 million redevelopment at the site of the former Ocean Beach funfair, along with The Range, Farmfoods and Poundworld.

Work at the site is restarting today after delays caused by talks between developers and Denbighshire council to settle issues over surrounding roads. The first phase of the project, which includes two retail blocks and a hotel, is due to be completed by Spring next year – the development will create around 500 jobs.

Burger King has signed a 20-year lease for the site while Greggs, which already has a High Street branch in Rhyl, has secured a ten-year lease.

The Scarborough Group says it is aiming to announce more tenants for the site in the near future.
