Police have been granted more time to question a man on suspicion of murder as the search for missing woman Tracy Kearns continues.
A 48 year-old man from Kinmel Bay was arrested on Thursday in connection with the disappearance of the mother-of-two, who was not been seen since last Sunday evening.
Police, who say the man is known to Miss Kearns, were given an extra thirty-six hours to detain the suspect by Mold magistrates court on Friday night.
Meanwhile, specialist teams are continuing their search for Miss Kearns for a second day. On Friday, efforts were focused on land near the Tir Prince complex in Towyn while police continued heightened patrols around her home on Cader Avenue.
Miss Kearns (43) is believed to have returned to her home after working on Sunday at the Sandy Cove club on Foryd Road – she was last seen there at around 8pm. Her last known contact was a message sent to a friend later that evening. The alarm was raised by her mother on Wednesday when she failed to meet up with a friend.
She is 5’3” tall with sandy shoulder length hair and speaks with a north west of England accent. Her disappearance was described as ”completely out of character” and her family is being supported by specialist liaison officers.
Anyone with information about Miss Kearns’ disappearance should call 101, quoting reference no. V066820.
