Police searching for a missing Kinmel Bay woman have arrested a man on suspicion of murder.
Police say the 48 year-old local suspect is known to Tracey Kearns (43), who last seen at the Sandy Cove club on Foryd Road at around 8pm last Sunday evening. The man is being questioned at St Asaph police station.
Patrols have been stepped up in Kinmel Bay while officers carry out house-to-house inquiries around Cader Avenue. Miss Kearns’ family is being comforted by specialist liaison officers.
Police said her disappearance was ”completely out of character” and concern was growing for her welfare. She is 5’3” tall with sandy shoulder length hair and speaks with a north west of England accent.
At a press briefing, Superintendent Sian Beck said police believed Miss Kearns returned to her home on Cader Avenue after work. Her last known contact was a message to a friend later that evening.
The alarm was raised by Miss Kearns’ mother on Wednesday when she failed to meet up with a friend as previously arranged.
Earlier, Spt Beck said: ”Tracey has not yet been found and we are still appealing to the public for information about her movements after 8pm on Sunday May 7.”
