Three candidates will stand in a council by-election in Trefnant, near St Asaph.

The poll for the vacant seat on Trefnant Community Council follows the resignation of Welsh Conservative councillor Leslie Rees at the end of last year.

An independent candidate, Peter Hughes, and a non-affiliated candidate, George Brookes, will go up against the Tories’ Ronald Davison. The vote will be held at Trefnant Village Hall on Thursday 25th February.

Meanwhile, voters in Upper Denbigh will go to the polls this Thursday to elect a new town councillor. Two local business owners are going up against a Welsh Labour candidate for the vacant seat.
