A Welsh Government spokesperson said: “Superfast Cymru is a tremendous success story for Wales, having already made superfast broadband speeds in excess of 24Mbps available to more than 581,000 Welsh premises – and that number is continuing to grow rapidly. These are all premises across Wales that would not have had access to any superfast broadband if it wasn’t for Welsh Government.
“The extension of the programme to 2017 will allow an additional 42,000 premises to be covered and we are also working hard to look at how the small percentage of premises which are currently not covered by the programme can receive faster broadband. This includes Access Broadband Cymru which provides financial assistance to support access to improved broadband speeds where Superfast Cymru is not available.
“As Denbighshire County Council is aware, we are currently in the process of setting up a meeting with their officials to discuss the roll-out. The Superfast Cymru deployment map, provided by BT, can also be found on our website.”
