Rural detectives are warning the public to secure their property after a spate of burglaries in recent weeks.

Police say thieves have stolen from sheds, outbuildings and vehicles in Betws-yn-Rhos near Abergele and around the Conwy Valley. Gardening power tools and farm equipment are among the items taken away.

PCSO Andrea Cody, part of the Conwy and Denbigh Rural policing team said: “Since July 30th, we have had a high number of reported incidents. We are asking residents to ensure that they property mark items of value, that they use anchor points to store them securely and that their outbuildings and sheds are locked and checked regularly.”

Anyone with information about the burglaries should contact Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
