Two youths have been arrested on suspicion of murder following an incident in Rhyl early this morning.
Officers were called at 03.03am on Sunday April 30 2017 to an address in Prince Edward Avenue Rhyl following reports of a violent disturbance.
Despite efforts by officers and paramedics at the scene, a 37 year old man from outside the North Wales area, who had sustained stab wounds, was pronounced dead at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd a short while later.
Three other males are being treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Supt Sian Beck said; “This was a shocking incident in which a man has sadly died. Our thoughts are with the victim’s family at this extremely difficult time.
“A full investigation is underway. Two male youths from the Rhyl area have been arrested on suspicion of murder and four men from outside the North Wales area have been arrested on suspicion of affray and wounding.
“I would like to reassure the public not to be alarmed by the increased police activity in Rhyl as we carry out our investigations. There will also be extra reassurance patrols in the area.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have information which could assist our investigation to come forward. I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who heard or witnessed a disturbance in Prince Edward Avenue at around 3am this morning.
