A Rhyl man accused of attaching a blade to a toothbrush is set to stand trial in the summer.

Jonathan Mellors denied possessing the offensive weapon on Russell Road last month. The 26 year-old, currently of no fixed abode, was refused bail at Mold Crown Court after his defence argued he was going to start work on Monday at Airbus UK’s Broughton factory.

The barrister argued Mellors could live with his stepfather in Prestatyn – but Judge Rhys Rowlands remanded him in custody. The trial is due to be held in June.
