A Rhyl man has been charged with possessing drugs with intent to supply – after a second raid in the town in 48 hours.

Police arrested the 33 year-old at a property on Princess Street on Friday morning (15th August), where they recovered controlled class A drugs. The suspect was questioned for several hours and charged later on Friday evening.

The arrest is the latest move by local officers as part of the heightened crackdown on drugs activity in North Wales known as Operation Scorpion. Equipment and stolen jewellery was recovered from a house on Wood Road on Wednesday morning. Elsewhere, five men appeared before Caernarfon magistrates on Friday afternoon after being charged with conspiracy to supply class A and class B drugs. A total of nine men have now been charged as part of the week’s police activity.

Rhyl Sergeant Mark Jones said: ”Our enquiries continue but we are obviously eager to hear from anyone who has any information about the supply of controlled drugs in the Princess Street area of Rhyl to contact Police or Crimestoppers. Let’s work together to clear our communities of those who pedal drugs”
