Rhyl man charged in Manchester cannabis probe

A Rhyl man will appear in court next week charged with producing and supplying cannabis in Greater Manchester.

26 year-old Steven Hindley from Maesgwyn was among nine men – including a serving police officer – arrested after over £80,000 worth of the drug was seized during raids in June.

Greater Manchester Police said jewellery – believed to have been stolen – was also recovered during the raids, including several rings at a house in Openshaw.

A serving officer with the force, Daniel Aimson (35) from Astley in Wigan, was charged with conspiring to produce cannabis and misconduct in public office following an anti-corruption investigation.

The nine men charged – including Hindley – will appear before magistrates in the city on Thursday 20th October.

A 26 year-old woman from Astley remains on police bail until December – she was arrested on suspicion of money laundering and conspiring to produce cannabis.
