Rhyl’s High Street Co-Op is to close next month.
Around 12 jobs will be affected at the town centre convenience store, which will shut on Saturday 29th April. The decision does not affect the stores at Ffordd Elan or on Rhyl Road in nearby Rhuddlan.
A spokesman for the Co-Op said: ”The Co-op is moving forward with a clear purpose and momentum, and while this often involves opening new stores, we sometimes have to take difficult decisions. The decision to close this store has been taken with reluctance, and does not reflect on the commitment and hard work of colleagues, who have been informed.”
A consultation with the staff at the High Street store is continuing in an effort to find them alternative roles.
