Two information days will be held this week about jobs on offer at Rhyl’s new Marina Quay.
Work is on course for the £23 million development to be completed in May with five tenants set to open new stores over the summer. As many as 500 people could end up working at the retail complex on the site of the former Ocean Beach funfair.
The skills fairs at Rhyl Town Hall – open only to JobCentre customers – will highlight some of the vacancies with The Range, Poundworld, Farmfoods, Burger King and Greggs in an effort to ensure as many local people as possible are able to secure a role.
The fairs are being held by developers Scarborough Group International. Associate director Kate Howe said: ”Each of the occupiers will recruit independently but we are working with the local job centre to facilitate the process as much as possible and ensure as many jobs are sourced locally as possible.”
”The aim is to inform people of the types of jobs available at Marina Quay and ensure they are aware of the support and training provided by the Job Centre which can help applicants succeed in securing employment.”
There will be two sessions at the Skills Fairs on Wednesday (1st March) and Friday (3rd March) from 10am-12pm and 12-2pm, offering workshops, support and advice – JobCentre customers have been advised to book a place. A jobs fair will also be held at Marina Quay shortly before construction work is completed.
