Prestatyn bus service saved

A local bus service for Prestatyn has been saved after a new operator was found.

Bagillt-based P&O Lloyd will run a weekday service linking the town with Rhyl from Monday 3rd April as part of its existing bus routes.

The service has been run on Tuesdays and Fridays only since the start of the year, after Voel Coaches announced it was pulling out due to a lack of demand. It has been maintained on a temporary basis with support from Prestatyn Town Council.

Denbighshire County Council said the new ‘enhanced service’ will run from Canterbury Drive to Rhyl bus station via Winchester Drive, Llandaff Drive, Prestatyn bus station, Sandy Lane, Pentywyn, Beverley Drive and Marion Road.

The council added it was still in talks about serving some parts of Prestatyn which would not be covered by the new route.
