Police investigate Rhyl taxi assault

Detectives are investigating an attack on a man in Rhyl town centre in the run up to last Christmas.

A couple flagged down a taxi on Queen Street at around 3.40am on Saturday 17th December – but were left standing outside when two young women and a man got into the car after asking if the taxi was free.

The two men were involved in a row before a fight broke out. The couple were left on the side of the road as the taxi drove off from the scene with the occupants.

Police say they wanted revellers to cast their minds back to that night and were particularly keen to speak to the taxi’s occupants to hear their version of what happened.

Anyone with information should contact PC Gareth Jones at Rhyl police station on 101 (quoting reference no. RC16188909) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
