Police hunt for Rhyl shop raiders continues

A police search is continuing for three men who held up a Rhyl alcohol store.

The gang threatened two staff members at Bargain Booze on Vale Road at around 8.15pm on Sunday and fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash – they were last seen heading towards Victoria Road. The shop assistants were said to be shocked by the raid but were not injured.

Two of the men were in their early twenties and between 5’6” and 5’7” tall – they wore dark ski masks and spoke with local accents. One man wore a dark grey hooded top and light tracksuit bottoms with black gloves, while the other wore a dark outer jacket and tracksuit bottoms.

The third man was said to be slightly taller than the others and spoke with a Liverpudlian accent – he was wearing a light hooded top at the time.

Detective Inspector Iwan Roberts said: ”We are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident and/or who may have seen someone acting suspiciously in the area to contact police.”

Anyone with information should contact St Asaph CID on 101 (reference no. RC16172578) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
