Police in Rhyl are appealing for witnesses after a 12 year-old girl was knocked down by a white van.

The girl was crossing the road at the junction with Ffordd Derwen and Cefndy Road at just after 8am on Thursday 5th December, when she was hit while walking behind the van. The driver failed to stop and check on the girl, who was left with minor injuries.

The investigating officer, PC Simon Hughes, said: ”Fortunately her injuries were minor and she was released from hospital after a check-up but it could have been far more serious.  I’d like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the collision to contact me.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Rhyl Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 (ref. RC13198615)
