An Open Day to view the properties has been arranged for people interested in buying one of the new affordable home in Gronant Street, Rhyl, part of the re-development of the town.
Work is nearing completion on the new build two and three bedroom homes which are due to be ready at the end of March, with one of the properties open to view on Saturday February 11th between 11am and 2pm
Point FM Station Director Big H spoke to Rob Hopkins, Leasehold and Sales Manager for Clwyd Alyn over the programme, listen below:
The homes, part of the wider Rhyl regeneration work, have been totally transformed whilst maintaining the original character of the area. They are part of a major refurbishment programme Keepmoat Housing and Regeneration have undertaken for the Pennaf Housing Group, in partnership with the Welsh Government and Denbighshire County Council.
The contract includes three 3-bed family homes and two 2-bed houses in Abbey Street as well as a further five four-bed homes in Edward Henry Street which have already been completed and allocated to local families.
The developments are integral to the West Rhyl Housing Improvement Project, a focussed ‘Investment in Housing and Green Space’ scheme in the area, and form part of Welsh Government’s Vibrant and Viable Places Programme.
The homes will be available at a below-market rate through Offa Property Management Services, which is part of the Pennaf Housing Group.

Deiniol Evans, Pennaf Housing Director of Development and Technical Services said, “We are working with our partners, both at Denbighshire County Council and at the Welsh Government to provide a wide range of high-quality affordable housing solutions in the heart of Rhyl as an integral part of the wider regeneration work,” He also added that a separate contract creating new-build homes on the opposite side of the road in Abbey Street and around the corner in Gronant Street is also nearing completion giving more houses to buy or rent in the early spring.
Rob Hopkins, Leasehold and Sales Manager for Clwyd Alyn said: “A high demand is expected, especially for the ‘Homebuy’ properties which provide an excellent opportunity those wanting to get their first step on the housing ladder. The three bedroom homes are available for people with a local connection who can obtain a mortgage of around £60,000 – making it cheaper to own your own home that it is to rent,” added Rob.
Anyone interested in the Homebuy properties should phone the Clwyd Alyn Housing Association Customer Contact Centre on 0800 1835757, as the homes for sale will be allocated before they are completed in March.”
