The father of a man charged with the murder of David Kingsbury in Old Colwyn has admitted assisting an offender.

Stephen Cody from Colwyn Bay previously denied removing a vehicle used immediately after Mr Kingsbury died from a single stab wound in January.

But the 53 year-old changed his plea to guilty when he appeared before Mold Crown Court via videolink from HMP Altcourse on Friday morning.

Dean Cody (30), who denies killing the unemployed labourer, will go on trial at Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday 26th June.

Three people – Colin Lyness (30) of Old Colwyn, Thomas Revalto (50) of Colwyn Bay and Susannah Buckley (40), formerly of Colwyn Bay – also deny assisting an offender.

The body of Mr Kingsbury was found in the Bryn Heulog area of Old Colwyn.
