North Wales braces for remains of hurricane Ophelia impact

An “Amber” weather warning has been issued for Anglesey, Gwynedd, Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Conwy and Denbighshire, The warning has been issued by the Met Office as the winds in some areas could bring “potential danger to life”.

The remains of Hurricane Ophelia which is set to hit Ireland and Northern Ireland has made its way from the Azores in the Atlantic where it is now classed as a storm.  Wales will see gusts of wind up to 80mph along the coast which has already left homes without power affecting 450 homes and schools to close on Anglesey.

Rhyl Lifeboat have already warned people to take care if you are heading to the coast. It’s not worth risking your life to take a picture of the weather.

Ophelia is set to hit Ireland at around 2pm on Monday 16th October.
