A Conservative councillor from Llandudno has been sworn into the Welsh Assembly.
Janet Howarth will serve as a regional AM for North Wales, following Antionette Sandbach’s election as MP for Eddisbury in the general election earlier this month. Ms Howarth will take up her seat next week, when the Senedd reconvenes after half term.
The automatic change in AM took place without a by-election as Ms Howarth was second on the Tories’ list of candidates for regional seats, which are decided by proportional representation. The next Assembly elections will held on 5th May 2016.
