Four more arrests have been made in connection with a spate of armed robberies in the Point FM area.
Two local men were arrested on Monday night following the raids on four convenience stores in Rhyl, Kinmel Bay and Dyserth. Another two men arrested on Sunday have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
It’s believed three masked men with weapons raided the Apex Store in Kinmel Bay at 10.20pm on Thursday 9th March, Llewelyn Stores in South Rhyl at 9.55pm last Thursday, Lifestyle Express in Dyserth at 10.15pm on Saturday night and Bargain Booze in West Rhyl at 10.13pm on Sunday night.
The men made off with cash and cigarettes in all four of the raids after threatening staff. Two youths were arrested following the Llewelyn Stores raid, which left the female shopkeeper with a minor hand injury. Two men were also arrested and bailed after the Apex Store incident.
Detective Inspector Iwan Roberts, the lead officer of ‘Operation Danism’, said: ”We are doing all we can to progress this investigation, but we are still keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the locality of any of the stores at the times mentioned.”
Central CID believe the four robberies are linked – and are still appealing for anyone with information to call 101, quoting Operation Danism, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
