Manslaughter trial for Maes-y-Groes flat landlord

The landlord of the Prestatyn flat where an arson attack killed five members of the same family will stand trial in the autumn.

Jay Liptrot, one of the first fireman to attend the fatal Maes-y-Groes fire in October 2012, pleaded not guilty to five charges in connection with the deaths of Lee-Anna Shiers, her partner Liam Timbrell (23), nephew Bailey (4), niece Skye (2) and their 15 month old son Charlie.

The 43 year-old from Gronant Road appeared before Caernarfon Crown Court on Monday, where a provisional trial date of Monday 16th November was fixed. He was released on bail.
