A man has been charged after a stabbing near the Rhyl seafront.

A 25 year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after disorder broke out on Water Street at around 3am on Friday 2nd June.

Detectives said a 27 year-old local man was charged with knife crime offences, but they are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen what happened. The stabbing occurred before stop-and-search powers were introduced in a weekend crackdown on knife crime in Rhyl.

DC Natalie Lewis from St Asaph CID said: ”There were a lot of people milling around and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed an incident on Water Street near to where it joins the promenade.”

Anyone with information should contact DC Lewis at St Asaph CID on 101, quoting reference no. RC17080228, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
