Man arrested after Rhyl firearm alert


A man was arrested after armed police were called out to an incident allegedly involving a firearm in Rhyl at the weekend.

Much of Vale Road was cordoned off when officers were called out at just after 10.15pm on Sunday night. According to eyewitness reports, the North Wales Police helicopter also monitored the scene around the Shell garage and the rugby club.

No firearm was found after a search of the area and no one was injured in the incident, but investigations are continuing. Anyone with information should contact police on 101 (ref. R129127)
