Man arrested after Rhuddlan domestic standoff

A man has been arrested after a domestic incident in Rhuddlan.

Armed police from the joint Cheshire and North Wales Alliance Unit were called to Rhyl Road on Saturday in a standoff believed to be in connection with a case of blackmail.

The road was closed to traffic for several hours but North Wales Police said there was no cause for concern from local residents and the armed officers had been deployed for the public’s safety.

Superintendent Gareth Evans said on Saturday evening: ”I would like to thank members of the public for their patience while the road was closed and also the officers for the professional way in which they dealt with the incident, which is now over.”
