Man arrested after Denbigh shop raid



A man has been arrested after a robbery at a convenience store in Denbigh at the weekend.

Two men held up the Premier Stores on Henllan Street at around 10.25pm on Saturday night before they fled towards Lenten Pool. Detectives said on Monday that a local man was being questioned at St Asaph police station on suspicion of robbery.

Anyone who witnessed the raid or with any further information should call Denbigh police station on 101, quoting reference number RC16175478.

Meanwhile, police in the town are also still investigating an armed raid at a newsagents on Rhyl Road. Two men threatened the shopkeeper with hammers and a lock knife before escaping with cash from McColl’s last month.
