Llandudno man denies newsagents’ raid

An unemployed man charged with robbing a Llandudno newsagents has been refused bail by magistrates.

Andrew Duncan is accused of holding up the Clifton House’ newsagents on Upper Mostyn Street on St David’s Day. The 50 year-old from Kings Avenue allegedly threatened a 24 year-old female shop assistant before making off with cash and tobacco.

The defence told Caernarfon magistrates that Duncan denied the charges and claims he was not in the shop on the day.

Duncan’s application for bail was rejected. He was remanded in custody until he appears before a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court next month.
