A post-mortem has found Kinmel Bay woman Tracy Kearns died after she was strangled.

The body of the mother-of-two was found six days after she was last seen alive at the Sandy Cove social club, where she worked. Ms Kearns’ partner, Anthony Bird, has been charged with her murder and is due to stand trial in November.

An inquest was opened and adjourned in Ruthin on Tuesday – coroner John Gittins told the hearing that a Home Office pathologist had given the provisional cause of death as manual strangulation.

A date for the full inquest could not be set because of the ongoing criminal proceedings.
