An inquest has heard how retired policewoman died from multiple crash injuries in a three vehicle-crash in Abergele.

Hilda Ann Blythin was trapped underneath one of the vehicles at the junction of Water Street and Bridge Street on Thursday 2nd March. The 69 year-old was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash involving two cars and an articulated lorry.

Mrs Blythin, who lived in nearby Tannery Court and served as a police officer in Rhyl, was described by her family in a tribute as ”a much loved Wife, Mother and Nain” who was ”full of life and a real character”.

North Wales East and Central coroner John Gittins adjourned the hearing in Ruthin until a later date after a police investigation into the crash is completed.
