Prestatyn Town’s hopes of returning to the Welsh Premier appear to be on hold for this season after losing 2-1 to ten-man Porthmadog at Bastion Gardens.

The Seasiders had an extra man for the second half after Rob Evans was sent off on the stroke of half time after a controversial foul. Town made it count when top scorer Jack Kenny marked his return by taking the lead on 69 minutes – his 13th goal of the season.

But Port hit back six minutes later through Jamie McDaid and delivered a killer blow in the 88th minute when Cai Jones pounced for the winner.

Prestatyn, who have lost their last four league games, now sit seventh in the table with eight games of the season to go.

Caernarfon Town extended their lead at the top to four points by beating Holyhead Hotspur 2-0 while Cefn Druids outseated Denbigh Town for 2nd with a 3-1 win at Conwy Borough.
