Craig K chats to Grammy nominee Gretchen Peters

Listen again to Craig K’s interview with Gretchen Peters.  She talks to him about her life in music, writing songs for Bryan Adams, having the legendary Etta James record one of her songs and her current UK tour.

GRETCHEN PETERS  is back and plays RHYL Pavilion on Tuesday 9th February 2016 (her only Welsh date).

Since the release of her “career album”, 2012’s Hello Cruel World, two-time Grammy nominee Gretchen Peters has been in near-constant motion, touring for the past two years and releasing a live DVD and CD, Woman On The Wheel, in early 2013.

Since 2012 she’s appeared at the Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Cambridge Folk Festivals; and in addition to headlining her own sold-out tours, she’s supported country and folk legends Guy Clark, Arlo Guthrie and John Prine and she was even inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in October 2014.

Fresh off her induction, Gretchen Peters has confirmed the release of her new album ‘Blackbirds.’ Co-produced with Doug Lancio and Barry Walsh and recorded in Nashville, the album features a who’s who of modern American roots music: Jerry Douglas, Jason Isbell, Jimmy LaFave, Will Kimbrough, Kim Richey, Suzy Bogguss and more.

Since the release of the album ‘Blackbirds’ in 2015 which reached number 1 in the UK Official Country Artist Album Charts which led to a sold out UK tour, Peters now takes to the road again in a 15 date tour around the UK in February 2016.  One night of that tours brings her to the Rhyl Pavilion Theatre on Tuesday 9th February, her only Welsh date.
