More contingency plans have been announced for Denbighshire bus services affected by the collapse of GHA Coaches.

Denbighshire County Council say eight services have been suspended or withdrawn after the Ruabon-based firm ceased trading at midnight on Thursday.

The council said plans in place for school transport will remain until the end of term. Most of the 28 public routes previously run by the coach firm have resumed under alternative operators. The out-of-action services include routes from Rhyl and Prestatyn to the Vale of Clwyd and Prestatyn’s town service.

320 staff lost their jobs after the company announced it would go into administration. The company had recently been given a winding up order from HMRC over unpaid taxes.
