Gang attack teenager in Kinmel Bay attempted robbery

Four masked men are wanted by police after they attacked a teenager and tried to steal his rucksack in Kinmel Bay at the weekend.

The gang approached the boy as he was walking along Kendal Road at around 9.20pm on Saturday night. They tried to remove the bag he was carrying on his back but fled towards Rhyl empty handed. The boy was left with a facial injury which was not serious.

Detectives say they are especially keen to speak to the driver of a silver car, thought to be in his late thirties, who spoke to the teenage victim in the area later that night.

PC Delyth Palmer said: ”The offenders are all believed to be males and two of them were described as wearing dark clothing. One is believed to have been around 5ft 8’ tall and of big build and another is described as around 5ft 7’ tall of medium build. All are believed to have had their faces covered…house to house inquiries have been made and are continuing as are our investigations.”

Anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery should contact PC Palmer at Abergele police station on 101 (ref no. RC15103304) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
