Four men from Rhyl and Kinmel Bay will go on trial in the Autumn, accused of plotting to assault a man.

One of the defendants, Jake Kiernan (24) from Brickfield Park, has admitted possessing a 12 bore pistol – but another, Paul Lewis (39) from Trefor Avenue, denies possessing the firearm and conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm to Damian Wilding in April.

Perry Lee Jones (24) from Balmoral Grove and Kyle Evitt (29) of Rhyl High Street also face similar charges. The four men were arrested during an operation by armed police on Wellington Road in Rhyl.

The defendants, appearing via videolink from HMP Altcourse, were remanded in custody by Judge Rhys Rowlands at Mold Crown Court until October. The trial is expected to run for three or four weeks.
