Four men arrested in an armed police operation in West Rhyl are due to appear in court this morning.

Jake Kiernan (24), Paul Lewis (39), Kyle Evitt (29) and Perry Jones (22) have been charged with possessing a handgun and conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

The four men were arrested when their car was forcibly stopped during a planned operation on Wellington Road on Monday night, held in response to another incident in Rhyl High Street earlier that day

Kiernan, Lewis and Evitt are also accused of conspiring to supply class B controlled drugs. The men will appear before Llandudno magistrates.

Detective Inspector Chris Bell said officers had been carrying out extensive enquiries before the four suspects were charged on Thursday evening: ”Staff have shown dedication and commitment with excellent team work on this incident, which has resulted in a serious weapon been taken off the streets of North Wales.”
