Four men have been arrested after a teenager was shot dead outside a pub near Pwllheli.

The 18 year-old local man was found inside a vehicle in the car park of the Ship Inn in Llanbedrog at around 12.15 on Sunday morning. He was pronounced dead at the scene shortly afterwards.

Forensic experts are examining the scene of the shooting and a post-mortem examination is due to place later on Sunday. The road leading to the pub remains cordoned off.

The four men arrested are being questioned by detectives, who are also appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw several men in a Land Rover Discovery to come forward.

The teenager’s family is being supported by liaison officers and the coroner for North West Wales has been informed.
