They’ve been on the comeback trail since bursting onto the Welsh music scene in 1996 with Paid â Bod Ofn. Now, the Vale of Clwyd trio, Eden, are set to mark their 21st anniversary with one of their biggest gigs to date.
After a slew of reunion gigs – including last year’s National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny – Rachael, Non and Emma will be taking to the Maes’ open air stage on Friday 11th August for one of their biggest gigs to date, as part of this year’s Brifwyl in Bodedern on Anglesey.

In recent years, the Friday night slot has been given over to a headline concert featuring some of the biggest Welsh music icons. The first such gig in 2013 saw Edward H Dafis perform for the very last time in Denbigh, followed by Bryn Fon at Llanelli 2014, Geraint Jarman at Meifod 2015 and last year, Huw Chiswell in Abergavenny.
Eden – alias Rachael Solomon from St Asaph, Non Wyn Williams from Rhuddlan and Emma Walford from St Asaph – have reunited occasionally since their late 90s heyday, when they combined their musical careers with an S4C children’s sitcom, Hotel Eddie and countless headline gigs and tours across Wales.
The trio said: ”The three of us are so excited that we’re doing The Big Gig on the Open Air Stage! This is the perfect way to celebrate Paid â Bod Ofn’s 21st birthday! We can’t wait to get to Anglesey and turn Bodedern into Bod-EDEN for one night only!”
Elen Ellis, the lead organiser of the National Eisteddfod, said: ”Coming from the same part of the world as Eden, I can’t wait to see them performing in this slot on the Eisteddfod Maes. This will definitely be one of the highlights of the week, and I know that there’ll be hundreds of others like me keen to re-live the 90s for the night!”
