Budding Gareth Bales and future George Norths are being encourage to join free football and rugby coaching sessions this summer.
Every Tuesday and Thursday throughout the school summer holidays free sessions in the sports are being held at Ysgol Brynhedydd on Spruce Avenue in Rhyl.
The sessions are open to boys and girls between 11 and 16 years of age and are being delivered by qualified coaches from Rhyl Football Club and the rugby by qualified coaches from Rhyl & District Rugby Union Football Club.
“The sporting events are all free of charge and we hope that many youngsters will take up the opportunity and join us,” said PCSO Ryan Hill who helped arrange the events. “Rugby sessions will be the first to get underway as they start on Thursday, July 21st and are held from 6.30pm until 7.30pm at the school. The football sessions start on Tuesday evening, July 26th and again run from 6.30pm until 7.30pm. Both sessions will then be held at the same times every week throughout the school holidays. Refreshments will be provided.
He added: “I’d like to thank everyone who has helped and given up their time to ensure the sessions have come to fruition. The High Sherriffs Crimebeat charity have also given a grant of £600 for which I am also extremely grateful. ”
