A motorist has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a seven-vehicle crash on the A55 at Rhaullt Hill.
Ambulance crews said five people – four men and a woman – were injured in the pile-up on the westbound carriageway at around 12.20pm on Thursday lunchtime. They were taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan – their injuries are not life threatening.
One lane was closed for around two hours while recovery work took place, leading to long tailbacks.
A spokesperson for North Wales Police said the driver of one of the vehicles had failed a roadside breath test and was taken into custody.
