Denbigh man remanded after Rhyl stabbing

A man has been charged with wounding two men in an alleged stabbing in West Rhyl.

Dane Molloy (32) from Denbigh appeared in court, accused of wounding Anthony Hunter and causing actual bodily harm to Carl Grocott in an incident on Butterton Road on Thursday.

Llandudno magistrates heard Mr Hunter was in an induced coma in hospital with chest injuries after suffering a puncture wound – police said he was in a stable condition. Mr Grocott was treated for a leg injury.

Molloy did not apply for bail and was remanded in custody – he is due to appear before a judge at Mold Crown Court on Friday 4th August.

Another five people were arrested after the incident but later released on bail. Anyone who was in the Butterton Road area or the alleyway leading to River Street – between 12.55pm and 1.30pm on Thursday – is urged to contact police on 101, quoting reference no. RC17096566, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
