They may not have kicked a ball since their Welsh Cup final defeat last month – but Denbigh Town have given themselves a boost ahead of the business end of what’s been one of the most exciting Huws Gray Alliance seasons in years.
Alan Bull has joined the Central Park club from MBi Llandudno. The striker is reunited with his former boss Gareth Thomas, having previously worked together at Buckley Town.
Bull was one of Dudno’s big signings last summer as they prepared for their Welsh Premier debut. Such has been their success at the top level, Bull hasn’t always found his way to playing for the first team, despite bagging eight goals from 22 appearances in all competition – during pre-season alone, he scored five times in six starts.
Denbigh manager Gareth Thomas, said: ”He will be a great addition to the squad. He has quality I feel we miss in the final third and will be a good addition in the final 12 games.”
Dudno’s assistant boss Sean Eardley said: ”It’s sad to see him go because he always worked hard for the team and was a top lad off the field, but he obviously wanted more game time which we couldn’t guarantee him here.”
Weather permitting, those last 12 games of the season will hopefully begin on Saturday when Denbigh are the visitors to fellow promotion chasers Prestatyn Town – in what will be a very important Denbighshire derby for both sides.
The Seasiders sit fourth in the table – four points off leaders Caernarfon Town but the Canaries have a game in hand. Denbigh are further back in sixth (seven points behind Caernarfon).
