The family of a Merseyside teenager murdered in Connah’s Quay say they are ”completely and utterly devastated”.
19 year-old Matthew Cassidy died from a fatal stab wound at an address on Bethel Place on Monday evening. A post-mortem examination was carried out at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd on Wednesday.
A 48 year-old man is still being held on suspicion of murder, along with a 19 year-old Merseyside woman on suspicion of assisting an offender and possessing controlled drugs.
Another man in his forties and a 60 year-old Flintshire woman were released without charge after being questioned by detectives on Tuesday.
Detective Chief Inspector Arwyn Jones described Mr Cassidy’s death as a ”senseless attack on a teenage boy”. He added: ”I strongly believe that the local community will have some information to help assist in bringing Matthew’s killer to justice.”
