An inquest has been opened and adjourned into the death of David Kingsbury in Old Colwyn.

The 35 year-old labourer died from a single stab wound in an incident on Abergele Road on Thursday 5th January – his body was found in the Bryn Heulog area. A man has been charged with his murder.

North Wales East and Central coroner John Gittins told the Ruthin hearing that because of the ongoing criminal investigation, the full inquest would be held later in the year.

Dean Cody (30), of no fixed abode was remanded in custody last week accused of Mr Kingsbury’s murder. Two other men, Colin Lyness (30) of Old Colwyn and Thomas Revatto (50) of Colwyn Bay, are charged with assisting an offender.

The three men will enter their pleas at Mold Crown Court in March, before they go on trial on Monday 26th June.
