A village community centre is to get a new lease of life thanks to an investment by Denbighshire County Council.
A six week refurbishment project is underway at Maes Esgob Community Centre in Dyserth. The work will include a brand new computer suite, a new kitchen area and new furnishings and decoration throughout.
Local residents were able to view visuals of the works at a recent drop in session and also had the opportunity to vote on their choice of colour scheme for the venue.
The centre is due to re-open in April and it’s hoped the upgraded facility will become a vibrant hub of the community offering a variety of new classes and community activities including a weekly youth club, a parent and toddlers group and a luncheon club. The centre will be supported by Denbighshire’s Housing Community Development Team.
“I’m delighted that we’re investing in this facility,” said Cllr Barbara Smith, Lead Member for Modernisation and Housing. “The improvements will make a big difference and ensure the centre remains an attractive environment at the heart of the community. It’s great news for local residents and I’m sure they will make excellent use of the improved facilities.”
