Boat owners’ warning after harbour thefts

Police are warning boat owners to be on their guard after a spate of thefts in Conwy county.

Three outboard motors and fishing equipment have been stolen from boats in Rhos-on-Sea and Conwy harbours over the past three months.

David Williams from North Wales Police said they were appealing to all boat owners to secure their marine equipment and ensure it is easily identifiable.

He added: ”We are also asking the public or anyone who lives close to harbours, boatyards or marina’s to report any suspicious activity.”

Anyone with information about the thefts should call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
