Two directors banned from running any bus companies face a new inquiry next month into the operations of two more North Wales firms.

The Traffic Commissioner banned Gareth and Arwyn Lloyd-Davies indefinitely following a hearing into the collapse of GHA Coaches, which ran public bus services across Denbighshire. 320 jobs were lost at the Ruabon-based company when it called in the administrators.

Nick Jones will now investigate whether the Lloyd-Davies brothers were involved in the running of RJ’s of Wem and RML 2418 Ltd, based in Ruthin. The two firms have been bidding to run replacement services in the Wrexham area – but its understood the directors left their positions in September.

A spokesperson for the Traffic Commissioner said the public hearing will examine the companies’ vehicle maintenance records and take evidence from the DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency). It will take place in Birmingham on Monday 5th December.
